Samantha Campbell is a professional contemporary ballet dancer, recently based in Portland, OR. A native of Salt Lake City Utah, she performed with Utah Ballet for three years and graduated from the University of Utah with a BFA in Ballet Performance, before being awarded a scholarship to study at the Lou Conte Dance Studio in Chicago ( Hubbard Street Dance Chicago). She spent a year performing as a classical ballet dancer with Alabama Ballet in Birmingham before transitioning to contemporary dance. In 2009, she joined Northwest Dance Project (NWDP), located in Portland, OR. As a dancer with NWDP she has performed in numerous original works by innovative international choreographers, including Sarah Slipper, Lucas Crandall, Didy Veldman, Ihsan Rustem, Patrick Delcroix, Wen Wei Wang, Jirí Pokorny, Felix Landerer, and Danielle Agami. She has toured nationally and internationally, including participation in a State Department-sponsored cultural exchange with artists in Mongolia. When she is not performing, Samantha teaches ballet and contemporary dance classes and is passionate in finding ways to bring live-arts to more audiences. Samantha is so excited to be currently based in New Haven, CT and to be part of the Shoreline Ballet team!
