Youth Ages 8-13

Level 2-Ballet Technique Ages 8+

Students further develop their knowledge and skills with basic ballet vocabulary and theory. In order to progress, it is recommended that students attend two classes per week.

Level 3-Ballet Technique Ages 10+

Incorporation of all previous levels with the addition of new ballet vocabulary. Students will be introduced to pre-pointe and focus on developing strength through age appropriate exercises that target the muscles of the calves, ankles and feet in order to prepare them for pointe work. In order to progress, it is recommended that students attend three classes per week and supplement with additional classes in other dance forms.

Level 4-Ballet Technique Ages 12+

Incorporation of all previous levels with the addition of new ballet vocabulary. Pointe work is introduced to those students who demonstrate sufficient strength. Exercises will be skill and level appropriate. In order to progress, it is recommended that students attend three ballet classes per week and supplement with additional classes in other dance forms.

Beginner Teen Ballet Ages 12+

This class is for the teen dancer with little to no ballet training. It will introduce the basics of ballet technique and emphasize proper posture and form. It is recommended that students attend an additional dance class in another dance form to supplement their training.

Level 3 & 4-Variations & Repertory Ages 10+

This class is devoted to only the Level 3 & 4 students who attend the recommended three classes per week. Students will learn classical ballet variations as well as the respective ballet history. Students will also learn repertory that will be performed during Shoreline Ballet productions.

Contemporary Level 3 & 4 Ages 10+

This is an introductory class that will slowly combine expressive elements of both classical ballet and modern dance. Students are required to be enrolled in either a Level 3 or 4 ballet technique class.

Jazz Ages 10+

Further development of jazz technique focusing on more creative, complex rhythms and combinations. It is recommended that students also attend a weekly ballet class to supplement this dance form.

Tap Ages 10+

More complex rhythms and combinations are introduced at this intermediate level. It is recommended that students also attend a weekly ballet class to supplement this dance form.

Teen Tap Ages 13+

Creative rhythms and combinations are explored in this fun, energetic teen class. It is recommended that students also attend a weekly ballet class to supplement this dance form.
