Level 2-Ballet Technique Ages 9-10
Students further develop their knowledge and skills with basic ballet vocabulary and theory. In order to progress, it is recommended that students attend two classes per week.
Level 3-Ballet Technique Ages 10-12
Incorporation of all previous levels with the addition of new ballet vocabulary. Students will be introduced to pre-pointe and focus on developing strength through age appropriate exercises that target the muscles of the calves, ankles and feet in order to prepare them for pointe work. In order to progress, it is recommended that students attend three classes per week and supplement with additional classes in other dance forms.
Level 4-Ballet Technique Ages 12-14
Incorporation of all previous levels with the addition of new ballet vocabulary. Pointe work is introduced to those students who demonstrate sufficient strength. Exercises will be skill and level appropriate. In order to progress, it is recommended that students attend three ballet classes per week and supplement with additional classes in other dance forms.
Shoreline Ballet Company Level 4-Level 6, Ages 12+
New for 2017!
Shoreline Ballet students in Levels 4-Levels 6 may audition for the Shoreline Ballet Company. This is a wonderful opportunity for dedicated dancers to train and perform outside of regular class time. Students will be selected based on skill and dedication. Students are required to attend ALL rehearsals. Students will have the opportunity to learn original choreography by Shoreline Ballet faculty and guest artists. Students will perform Contemporary, Modern and Classical Ballet choreography. Upcoming performances include the Harvest Women’s Festival on the Guilford Green, the Guilford Performing Arts Festival and the Shoreline Ballet’s January, In-Studio performance. Audition date: Saturday, September 9 12:00-1:30pm
Beginner Teen Ballet Ages 12+
This class is for the teen dancer with little to no ballet training. It will introduce the basics of ballet technique and emphasize proper posture and form. It is recommended that students attend an additional dance class in another dance form to supplement their training.
Modern/ Contemporary Level 3 & 4, Ages 10-14
This is an introductory class that will slowly combine expressive elements of both classical ballet and modern dance. Students are required to be enrolled in either a Level 3 or 4 ballet technique class.
Tap/Jazz Ages 9+
New for 2017!
More complex rhythms and combinations are introduced at this intermediate level for tap. Further development of jazz technique is also emphasized, focusing on more creative, complex rhythms and combinations. It is recommended that students also attend a weekly ballet class to supplement this dance form.
Tap/Jazz Ages 12+

Creative rhythms and combinations are explored in this fun, energetic teen class. It is recommended that students also attend a weekly ballet class to supplement this dance form.
Musical Theatre Dance Ages 12+
This fun and energetic class will focus on developing the form of theatrical dance. Students will learn a combination of skills such as acting, dialogue and dance. Students will learn a variety of dances from popular musicals.
